No Powerball ticket matched all the six numbers drawn in Saturday night’s Powerball drawing. The jackpot was worth $535 million. However, the jackpot now sits at $650 million.
Below are the excerpts of people buying the tickets on Sunday to see if they could hit the jackpot. Here are the things they will do with the windfall-
Israel Ibarra said, “Pay off my mortgage, help family members and maybe donate a little to the community.” He said $650 million is hard to imagine. He further adds, “Wow, that’s a lot. I don’t know how to react if I did win that.”
There were also people who plan to use the winning money to help others.
“Probably give it to my kids,” said Luis.
And, then there were also people who plan to keep the money for themselves.
Lee Duncan said, “Probably gonna buy a new TV.”
One lottery ticket buyer also said to use the winning prize to host a Barbeque in Charlottesville, Virginia. He wants to unite the country in the wake of the violence over racism and white supremacy.
Victor King said, “Where we’ve got all this racial tension right now, and see if we can have one side on one side of the table and the other side on the other.” He continues, it will be good to see if we can have a meal and relax and take a deep breath.
Moreover, the current jackpot has been growing since June. Till now, 21 straight drawings with no winners have taken place. Employees at the Flying J in Thousand Palms told that whenever the Powerball gets bigger, people start buying tickets.
The next Powerball drawing will take place on Wednesday, 23/8/0217.
