Every Powerball ticket costs $2. It allows a player to select five numbers from the first set of 69 numbers and one Powerball from a set of 26 numbers. The participants are open to select their numbers manually or by the use of computers. So to win the top prize, a player needs to match all five numbers drawn. Powerball also offers eight other ways to win cash prizes.

Growth in Powerball jackpot brings up the local participation. Tracie Binaut, a player from Ebensburg’s West End Market, started buying tickets when the jackpot grows. She took her chance when the Powerball jackpot was standing on $510 million. “I just play when it gets high,” she said. Binaut also purchases tickets at her travelled locations. An employee at West End Market, Sherrie Rhodes, said that the store turns busier in selling $2 and $3 Powerball tickets to those customers who are not regular.
