Kevin Blake, a 54-year-old man, scooped the half of a $42 million Mega Millions lottery jackpot on 13th October 2017. He managed to match the Mega Ball along with five main balls. The main numbers drawn for Friday’s game were 02, 07, 18, 26, 31, and Mega Ball 12. Purchased at the 7-Elevenon Airport Road in Waterford on October 13th, Blake’s ticket was one of those two jackpot-winning tickets purchased for that draw. The other winner acquired his/her ticket in Rhode Island.

Kevin, who has been playing the same numbers for a long time, followed that same routine when he stopped at the 7-Eleven to buy his tickets. He stated, “It did not even occur to me that it was Friday. I always play some family birthdays and then I get a couple of Easy Picks.” He tucked the ticket in the wallet and did not give it a second thought. The winner added, “My wife and I went about our normal weekend routine. Little did we know that I had a ticket worth $21 million in my pocket the entire time.” Stephanie did not know that her hubby was the lucky winner, but she was the first person to get excited about a jackpot winner from Waterford.

She was enjoying the news Saturday night. Her husband went to bed. They engaged in discussing a Mega Millions jackpot winning ticket which was sold in Waterford (Southeast Ireland). The wife also expressed, “I thought: ‘How neat that someone from our town won!’ so, I went and woke Kevin up to tell him.” The half winning share of the $42 million Mega Millions jackpot, interestingly, led the couple to spend a sleepless night. Blake went for a walk to explore what had happened actually while Stephanie went to work. He then chose to collect $13.1 million as one-time lump sum amount.
