Brunswick County (North Carolina) woman wins the first lottery of her life. The first time lottery player who carried around a scratch-off ticket has scooped $200,000 from $500 Frenzy game. She bought two $500 Frenzy scratch-off tickets when she was at the Food Lion on South Willis Drive (Shallotte). She thought it would be fun to participate in the lottery.

Bonnie Cox did not even know it for over a week. “I just put it in my purse and forgot about it,” Cox said. She remembered to scratch it when it came in her way while searching something else. She initially thought she was reading it wrong. Cox finally (on Wednesday) claimed her ticket at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. She took $139,003 to home. She wants to use her winnings to pay medical bills. Cox collected the prize after state and federal tax withholdings.

$500 Frenzy offers six top prizes of $200,000. Three among these prizes are still unclaimed. Till day, this game has raised more than half a billion dollars for education.
