61-year-old claims his $1 m of the $2 Mil jackpot

In adherence to the announcement made by the Florida Lottery, a Pembroke Pines ticket-holder, David Laws, claimed his $1 million share of the $2 million jackpot at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. He bought his LUCKY MONEY Quick Pick ticket from Kwik Stop, at 18198 Northeast 19th Avenue in North Miami Beach. The other $1 million winning ticket which is not claimed yet was bought in Palm Beach Gardens. The ticket-holders won this $2 million LUCKY MONEY™ jackpot on October 10, 2017.

Instead of collecting the prize as an annuity, David preferred to receive $743,026.31 as one-time lump-sum payment. LUCKY MONEY jackpot has generated more than $2.5 million from the ticket sales. This amount is likely to enrich Educational Enhancement Trust Fund. The upcoming LUCKY MONEY game is expected to be held on October 24, 2017, at 11:15 pm. ET. It will offer $600,000 jackpot. Its winning numbers will be available on Lottery’s official website.

Interestingly, the Florida Lottery is responsible for helping more than 775,000 students to college through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program. It has already contributed more than $32 billion to education. The lottery reinvests 98 percent of its revenue back through prize payouts. It is also engaged in the commissioning of more than 13,000 Florida retailers.
