A lucky ticket holder from Florida has managed to match all the numbers drawn on Jan. 5, 2018 draw. The numbers drawn in Friday night’s Mega Millions drawing were 28, 30, 39, 59, 70 and the Mega Ball 10. The $450 million Mega Millions winning ticket was bought at 7-Eleven in Port Richey, Florida. Rachel Vanderwiede, one of two clerks of this store, said that she has “no idea” who hit the jackpot. “It is driving everyone nuts. They wanted to know why [he or she] has not come forward. I do hope it was one of our locals. A person who visits on a regular basis and, hopefully, deserves it very much. This is going to be great for the store, great for publicity, great for customer service” the clerk said.
The Mega Millions winners has 180 days to claim the prize. He/she can either collect $281.2 million as one-time lump-sum cash option or 30 annuity installments. Tuesday night’s jackpot sits at $40 million with $25 million cash option.

Mega Millions director and Maryland Lottery chief Gordon Medenica has congratulated the first jackpot winner of the year. For selling the lucky ticket, the concerned retailer will get $100,000 as the bonus of sale. Don Creley, lottery’s district manager, advised the winner to “make sure they have all their ducks in a row” before making a claim. He/she, however, needs to travel Tallahassee to file the claim at the state capital’s district office.
