Annie Wilson of Greenville, South Carolina, parlayed a trip to visit her daughter-in-law in Laurinburg into an $112,019 Cash 5 win. She chose her numbers for winning tickets using a combination of family birthdays.
Wilson claimed the winnings at North Carolina Education Lottery headquarters in Raleigh on Monday. She took home $77,854 after required state and federal tax withholdings. Moreover, Wilson plans to save her winnings.
On the other hand, Trucker Lewis Hooper of Pine Grove, Pennsylvania, said he only planned to buy coffee at a truck stop in Whitakers. He is still not sure what made him buy the Texas Paid scratch-off ticket. Hooper also said to save his $200,001 worth winning.
