Peterborough man wins $50,000 in lottery game

A Peterborough, Canada Bingo fan has won a $50,000 top prize with Instant Bingo. Howard Sawyer of Peterborough likes to enjoy coffee while playing the game. He has a lot of great memories of the game.

“I used to play bingo with my late mother and my first wife,” he added. It was a lot of fun, and so naturally I am drawn to Instant Bingo, Sawyer shares. He had three tickets to scratch. The third ticket was the big winner. First, Sawyer thought he had hit $10,000, but later, when he checked the rules he realized to win a lot more.

Sawyer purchased the winning ticket at East Bank Variety on Armour Road in Peterborough. Following a sleepless night, he went to the retail store to get his ticket validated and then to OLG prize centre. Plans are underway for his windfall.

On being questioned about his further plans, Sawyer said he is thinking about the financial breathing that this big win has brought. He wants to take his grandchildren to a fun amusement park. He also wants to take a trip out west to Vancouver, from where he belongs. Being an artist, ‘some new brushes and paint will make me even happier,’ he concluded.

Instant Bingo is available for $3 play with the top prize of worth $50,000. To win, you will need to scratch a line, 4 corners, a letter T, a letter X or an outside box of your Bingo game cards. Odds of winning a prize are 1 in 3.45.
