A lottery ticket buying mix-up helped Michael Doyle to win $1-million Powerball prize. The Belleville man bought Mega Millions and Powerball tickets Friday, but he did receive Lotto 47 tickets instead of the Powerball tickets. He discovered this lucky mistake at the Belleville Fuel Mart, located at 496 Main St., on the next day, as per the officials of Michigan Lottery.
One of those tickets matched the five white balls; i.e., 06, 21, 41, 52, and 62, drawn Saturday.
He came to know that the winning ticket was purchased in Belleville after some days. “I immediately checked my tickets and have been happy and nervous ever since I realized I was the winner because $1 million is so much money,” Doyle said. The winner, however, wants to use the winnings to fund his retirement and to buy a new car.
