The jackpot winning millionaires generally prefer to get brand new cars. But Simon Fagan (County Louth, Ireland) had a different choice after becoming a millionaire. Rather than buying a fancy new motor car, he preferred to celebrate his £3 million jackpot with a second hand modest Kia. During purchase, the Kia car had 150,000 miles on the clock.
The Irish learned to drive after buying the new set of wheels. In adherence to the Irish Mirror, the winner claimed his Lotto jackpot prize in 2013 and went straight to a local pub. He, along with his parents, spent a wild night in that bar.
The nerve wracking moment came when he was watching his lucky numbers roll out of the Lotto mixer. Simon was sitting there and watching the draw live. He found first three numbers to come out. The fourth number was called then. “I said to my brother beside me if number 22 comes out we’re in business!
He was unable to believe it when the girl called out for the same number. Simon did not realise how much was in the jackpot at that point of time.
