State Lottery officials on Friday revealed that the 19-year-old Anthony Lavarone of Clifton Park, New York is the winner of the jackpot on a $1 million Cashword scratch-off ticket. Lavarone will receive one-time lump sum amount of $661,800 after taxes.

Lavarone stopped at Stewart’s Shops store in Saratoga County, Ballston to put air in his tires and decided to buy a lottery ticket. He chose to buy a $10 Cashword scratch-off because he has seen his aunt playing this. At first, Lavarone didn’t believe that he has won the jackpot, so he asked his father to double-check it.

Lavarone received his prize from Yolanda Vega of New York Lottery at 201 Northline Road store.
