$174 Million Powerball Jackpot without any winner

Powered by a rollover, the Wednesday’s Powerball is estimated to offer a $191 million ($119.4 million cash option) jackpot. As no lucky punter managed to match all the numbers drawn in Saturday’s draw, its last drawing, held on October 21, 2017, went without any top prize winner. Saturday’s winning numbers, however, were 14, 41, 42, 45, 69, and Powerball 04. However, the Power Play Number was 02.

A player from Texas scooped $1 million by matching five white numbers. He/she did not play the Power Play to increase his prize winnings. Three other ticket-holders from Michigan scooped $200 each. However, non-jackpot prizes worth $5,780,246 were awarded to 727,026 lucky punters. Powerball lottery, which is subjected to organise on Wednesdays and Saturdays, at 9:59 pm central time, keeps a record of $1.6 billion jackpot as the biggest jackpot in the history. A couple from Tennessee won it in January 2016.

By increasing the ticket prices from $1 to $2, the Mega Millions lottery set to offer bigger jackpots from October 2017. A $3 ticket is also likely to be introduced which will provide two chances of playing the jackpot. Powerball made a similar move by lengthening its odds and raising its ticket prices two years back, in October 2015. After that, it offered $200 million jackpots nine different occasions.
