Police officials on Saturday caught a woman at Rumah Usek, (Malaysia) Sungai Keriok Niah for suspected involvement in illegal lottery ticket selling.
The deputy district police chief, Supt Stanley Jonathan Ringgit, said that the 37-year-old woman was arrested in a raid at 5:15 p.m. The Miri Crime Investigation Department (CID) personals conducted the raid which was led by Inspector Mohd Fitri Kukung.
Police confiscated many items as evidence. There was a portable printer, handphone, calculator, pen and five pieces of paper with lottery numbers along with cash approx. RM289.
Furthermore, the case is being investigated under Section 4A (a) Open Gaming House Act 1953. Open Gaming House Act 1953 is an act relating to the suppression of common gaming houses, public gaming, and public lotteries.
