A Mega Millions ticket, sold at Summit Grill located at 1800 Highway 18 Georgia in August, has not been claimed yet. If not claimed within the deadline, it could be the biggest missed opportunity ever in West Point area.
Mega Millions winners can claim their prizes within 180 days of the day of the drawing. February 4th is the last day of claiming the prize. The winning numbers for the concerned draw were 11, 17, 50, 52, 74, and Mega Ball 14.
The manager at Summit Grill, Tony Crooks, said that it was the second occasion a million-dollar ticket had been purchased there. She said, “But this is the first time someone hasn’t claimed the money. It’s crazy. How do you play the lottery and not check your numbers?” The Summit Grill store sells between 2,000 to 3,000 tickets per day. It has also sold a Fantasy 5 ticket of $125,000 on February 28th. The lucky ticket matched all the winning numbers – 02, 19, 20, 23, and 40. However, the winning ticket has not been claimed yet. It needs to be claimed within 180 days.
“A couple of weeks ago when the weather was bad, we didn’t have any lottery sales. When the jackpot starts getting up into the $3 million to $ million, then you start to see more customers. A lot of it is people travelling from Montgomery and Birmingham, the inter-Alabama area,” she said.
