Powerball and Mega Millions Jointly Offer $657 Million

More than $650 million lottery winnings are up for this weekend. An analysis made by Allstate’s data scientist team tells how unlikely you are to win any of these prizes. Let’s explore the actual picture.

1 in 75 quadrillions are the odds of winning for Mega Millions and the Powerball. Mega Millions jackpot has 1 in 258 million winning odds while the Powerball jackpot offers winning odds like 1 in 292 million.

However, the odds of all three events participated by a single person 1 in 19,900,000. So, Allstate thinks it is far more likely than hitting either jackpot. Moreover, a player can’t expect to walk away with all $657 million.

As per the estimation is done by USAMega.com, the federal tax withholding will be $54.5 million for the lump sum $218 million. However, $48.3 million will be the tax deduction of $193.2.
