Louisiana Lottery players now won’t be able to buy Mega Millions lottery tickets for $1. Louisiana Lottery workers have announced to raise the price of lottery tickets from $1 to $2. They announced on July 24 that new changes would take place from coming October 28. The new changes and other enhancements will create larger jackpots.

As per the release from Louisiana Lottery, “Odds of winning the jackpot will increase from 1-in-258.9 million to 1-in-302.5 million”. However, the changes will produce average jackpots of $371.4 million. Moreover, 5 white ball numbers will be removed for a total of 70 to implement these game changes and other enhancements. Also, 10 numbers will be added from the field of yellow Mega Ball numbers for a total of 25.

Above all, these changes and new enhancements will force lottery workers to suspend the multi-draw purchase options of Mega Millions ticket temporarily and progressively starting from August 22.
