Ticket Worth €500,000 Was Sold in Thurles Shop

As per the LOTTO officials, Saturday’s winning LOTTO Plus One ticket worth €500,000 was sold at McKevitts Costcutters, Friar Street in Thurles. Kevin Boyle, a young farmer, collected the whopping prize. He left the lucky ticket in his car for four days. Boyle nearly had a stroke when he found out he had won the cash. 29 other ticket holders managed to match five numbers and scooped €1,291 each. The winning numbers for Dec. 9, 2017, LOTTO Plus One draw were 13, 23, 25, 27, 34, 39 and bonus number 43.

Shop owner David McKevitt said that he was unable to believe this news in the morning. He stated: “This is our biggest ever lotto win. We sold a €25,000 winning ticket some years ago. There is huge excitement here today especially given the time of year we have! This will certainly make it a thrilled Christmas for one of our customers.”

“I couldn’t believe it. I had to drive straight home and get the father to double check it. I will have a good Christmas, that is for sure, and I think it will be enough to get a deposit for a house too,” the winner said while speaking in LOTTO HQ in Dublin. He doesn’t buy scratch cards too often.
