The Government Lottery Office has continued its investigation into suspected abuse of lottery distribution quotas. As per GLO director Chalongrat Nak-arthit, reselling ticket quotas is against the law. 1st Army Region and police were conducting a joint probe into many lottery ticket consignments purchased by retailers. The GLO chairman (1st Army Region commander) Lt Gen Apirat Kongsompong ordered the probe.
Around 180 vendors purchased more than 900 lottery ticket books from GLO. They have resold those tickets to other sellers or brokers. If the investigation brings out any green result, GLO will revoke its contracts with those suppliers.
Moreover, GLO has instructed them to sell tickets to the customers. And the officials have repeatedly warned retailers and vendors for not selling tickets to other lottery sellers or brokers. The same rule also applies to an arrangement in which providers or dealers make advance purchases of lottery tickets.
Above all, reselling tickets to other vendors causes manipulation in the lottery ticket supply. So, if the GLO finds vendors guilty in the reselling of lottery tickets, they might lose their investment quota for life.
