The former part-owner of Full Tilt Poker and controversial poker player Chris “Jesus” Ferguson has set a new World Series of Poker (WSOP) record after making his 14th cash in the series.
The previous record of 13 cashes was established by Roland Israelashvili at last year’s series. Incidentally, Chris Ferguson made 10 cashes in the last year’s series. Chris surprised a few people when he returned to WSOP last year. Many were still angry at his involvement in the collapse and non-payment of player deposits. But, it looks like Chris has been able to brush aside his unpopularity as he made his 14th Cash of series on Saturday after finishing in 96th place in Event #58, $1, 500 No-Limit Hold’em.
Although Chris’s return has been widely criticised by fans and players alike, not everyone is so hard on him. When a fan asked the legendary Doyle Brunson about what he feels about Ferguson’s run at this year, he took the help of twitter to show his support and wrote, “I think Chris is a good guy and has done nice things for people that nobody talks about. I wish him well.” Chris is also currently leading the 2017 WSOP Player of the Year Standings.
