Arkansas experiences increase in lottery sales, good for Ark students

The Powerball jackpot has reached new heights. The $430 million Powerball jackpot has led to increased excitement and ticket sales. Since no lucky winner has hit the jackpot, the $430 million Powerball jackpot has reached to greater heights of worth $510 million.

Now, this has brought some good news. The Director of Arkansas Lottery, Bishop Woolsey said that high jackpots lead to high sales. In other words, this means more scholarship money for Arkansas students. Woolsey added that during last two weeks, both the giant draws i.e. Powerball and MegaMillions surpassed $300 million. It is the first time both the jackpots have reached to such a height at the same time. As a result, ticket sales are 30% higher in comparison to other months.

It is one of the biggest sales for Arkansas Lottery over the years. Moreover, Woolsey is confident about funding more Arkansas scholarships this year than the previous one. “This money does not go to private corporations, it goes towards scholarships,” Woolsey said. “If you win, great, you win a prize; if you don’t, you can feel better knowing that money will help a student here in Arkansas.”

Above all, Woolsey also feels that allowing debit cards for ticket sales has also been a contributor to the increase in sale.
