If the newly proposed online lottery model wins the green light, then Lottery buyers will have a chance of hitting a Bt400-million jackpot. This new online lottery model will allow bigger jackpots.

According to Maj-General Chalongrat, director of Government Lottery Office (GLO), his office is considering a new online lottery model. The model will allow big jackpots. GLO will soon consider this model.

Chalongrat said, “If it gets a nod, it will be tabled before the Cabinet for approval.” He added that the new lotto model is based after foreign lotto. In foreign lotto, if there is no winner, the prizes roll over for two successive draws. The newly proposed model uses Section 22 of the GLO law to amend this.

Chalongrat concluded, “I think our country is ready for this kind of lottery”. Moreover, he feels that this model will solve several problems of lottery over pricing and underground lotteries.
