Horace Morrison, a lottery player from Charlotte, told his co-workers that he would win $1 million in the state lottery because he believed that. The forklift driver just did it at a Cornelius convenience store in recent days. He went to his co-workers as soon as he realised that he had won this tremendous amount.
He purchased his lucky ticket at the Circle K on Old Statesville Road after work. It was a $30 Extreme Millions scratch-off ticket. “I always told them one fine day I was going to win one million dollars. I had to show them. They could not believe it when they saw the ticket,” Morrison told state lottery officials.
He scooped the $1 million lottery prize by beating the odds of winning 1 in 780,000. Morrison, however, preferred to collect one-time lump sum payment of $600,000. He claimed his prize at lottery headquarters in Raleigh and took home $417,015 after state and federal tax withholdings.
