Mooresville Resident hits $418,090 Cash 5 Jackpot

Judith Worster, a woman from Mooresville (Iredell County, USA), scooped $418K from the North Carolina Education Lottery. She bought the ticket for Saturday’s drawing at the Harris Teeter on Argus Lane in Mooresville.

Worster claimed her prize Tuesday and collected $290,570 (after required state and federal tax withholdings) from lottery headquarters in Raleigh.

The government of North Carolina is managing all the games of North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL). It offers a broad range of games that includes Carolina Pick 3, Carolina Pick 4, Carolina Cash 5, Lucky for Life, Powerball, and Mega Millions. The net proceeds of North Carolina Lottery go directly to benefit the state’s education. The Lottery has currently raised $3.6 billion for state’s education, which is the highest figure since its inception. The State Lottery Act nicely defines how to spend every single dollar produced by the lottery.
