Michelle Shuffler Becomes the Second NC Woman to Hit Two Jackpots

By hitting two scratch-off lottery jackpots, Michelle Shuffler, a North Carolina woman, has created the second instance in three weeks. She won $10,000 with one scratch-off ticket earlier. She then scooped a $1 million jackpot on Sunday with another scratch-off ticket.

The North Carolina woman claimed both of her prizes on Monday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. She, however, preferred to collect 20 annual payments of $50,000 over the lump sum option. Shuffler wants to use the lottery winnings for a safe retirement and children’s college funds.

She purchased the $10,000 winning ticket in Lenoir with her husband. The couple decided to buy another one 22 miles away in Granite Falls. Kimberly Morris, a ticket holder from Wake Forest, also won 2 lottery jackpots at the end of October.
