Washington man hits $1 million lottery win while vacationing

Mostly we all return home with less money than before, after a vacation or a holiday. But, this surely was not the case with Jonathan Jones of Washington D.C. Instead he came back a million dollar richer.

Jones of Washington D.C. was enjoying a vacation with his family in Williamsburg. He stopped at a nearby convenience store to buy a Powerball ticket. The Powerball ticket ended up matching the first five main numbers drawn to win $1 million second prize.

Jones purchased his winning ticket at Terrace Grocery, 1102 Penniman Road in Williamsburg for the July 22 drawing. He chose Easy pick enabling the computer to pick numbers for him randomly.

The winning numbers were: 5-32-44-53-60,

The Powerball number: 9

Moreover, Jones’s ticket is the only one in Virginia to match the first five numbers drawn. His ticket is also one of just three nationwide tickets to do so. Furthermore, Jones works for a roofing company and has no immediate plans for the windfall.

On the other hand, Terrace Grocery will also receive a $10,000 bonus from the Virginia Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
