A new record set in an American Style Lottery. As per the Lottery Operator, Vietlott, this $5.8 million (VND131.92 billion) jackpot is the biggest win for an individual since the American Style Lottery was launched in July 2016. It has beaten the previous record of VND112.47 billion. The Vietnamese Lottery Player would be bagging home around VND119 billion, after paying the taxes. However, the winning numbers of this Vietnamese Lottery Jackpot are 04, 07, 13, 20, 35, and 44.

Held on last year’s Christmas Day, American Style Lottery had divided its largest ever jackpot; i.e., VND160 billion, and distributed into its two winners. The Mega 6/45 game is the company’s first foray into the market. Players need to select six numbers from 1 to 45 to win the VND12 billion ($538,000). Each ticket costs VND10 thousand (40 cents). It keeps rolling over until there is a winner. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 8.14 million.

Vietlott recently signed an exclusive 18-year contract with Malaysian conglomerate Berjaya for launching electronic lottery games. From 2011 through 2015, Vietnamese people spent around $13 billion (jointly) on lottery tickets. According to a Government Agency, this amount is helping the industry’s revenue to grow on average by 12 percent per year. Interestingly, the combined revenue from 21 southern provinces based lottery companies in crossed $3 billion last year. It was $1 billion in 2007. Along with the highest prize set at VND1.5 billion, traditional lottery tickets in Vietnam have predestined numbers printed on them.
