Happiness overloaded! Helen and Derek Garnett, a couple from Ulverston, scooped million-dollar lottery second time in this year. The lucky couple won this whopping £1 million Euromillions prize just after Mrs Garnett was given the all-clear certificate for a cervical cancer diagnosis.

“I got up and looked at my emails, and I saw that we had won. I opened my account, and then I saw all the zeroes,” Derek said. The millionaire couple was finally awarded the seven-figure cheque at Abbey House Hotel in Barrow.

Mrs Garnett explored that she had cervical cancer. She had to have a radical hysterectomy at Preston Hospital just before the Christmas. “It has not properly sunk in, but this is making it sink in a bit more,” she expressed after their identities were revealed. The parents of 14-years-old are still coming to terms with the size of their winnings.
