A Michigander matched all six numbers; i.e., 04, 18, 19, 35, 42, and 46; for a $2 million prize in Michigan Lottery. He bought a Lotto 47 ticket from a Dearborn, South Telegraph Road. The winner, chosen to remain anonymous, arrived to pick up his prize on Friday morning. “If someone wins more than $10,000, under state law, they are granted anonymity,” said Jeff Holyfield, Michigan Lottery spokesperson. In adherence to his words, the winner is a male, 61-year-old. He chose to receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $1.2 million. The 61-year-old has a plan to donate the winnings to the church and then save the remainder. “I don’t feel anything right now; it will all hit me later. I just keep wondering: ‘Is this real?” the man said.
Another Michigan-based player, the winner of Lucky for Life game, paid $2 to play and won $25,000. As per The Michigan Lottery, East 10 Mile Road in Eastpointe sold the winning ticket. The person who purchased his/her ticket from Van’s Party Store matched all five winning numbers; i.e., 06, 15, 18, 36, and 47. But he/she was unfortunate to match the Lucky Ball. However, the winning amount, $25,000 a year for life or a one-time payment of $390,000, has not been collected yet. “This is the 11th time we have had a player win Lucky for Life in Michigan,” Michigan Lottery spokesperson said.
Both the winners need to show valid photo identifications and social security cards for claiming their prizes. However, they need to dial (517) 373-1237 to contact Lottery’s Public Relations Division. Unfortunately, if the winner dies, his/her estate will get a minimum of 20 years of winnings.
