Similar Set of Numbers Pays $2.6M to Linda, $50K to Eric

Eric Garrison, a man from Falmouth, managed to match four of the first five numbers for Nov. 1, 2017, Powerball drawing and won the third prize of the game. The set of numbers used by $50K winner was not new to the Kentucky Lottery. To earn this whopping $50,000, he used the same set of numbers used by his wife Linda for winning $2.6 million in 1999.

The Powerball (Red) Power Number: 01

The Power Play Number: 02

Garrison bought the $50K winning ticket in Sadieville at Love’s Travel Stop #618. He is retired from Sears as a service repairman and associated with three jobs to keep him busy. The store is likely to receive $500 as the ticket selling bonus. Unfortunately, no ticket-holder scooped the estimated $52 million Powerball jackpot.

The lucky husband visited the same store last Friday. The manager handed back the ticket and told him it was too much for them to pay. Even if Eric Garrison is not a regular player of Powerball lottery, he loves to use the same set of numbers every single occasion. He started playing Powerball lottery a few months back after he visited a Falmouth store. The winner then bought a set of numbers and had the lottery terminal pick the numbers. “I have been playing the same set of numbers ever since,” he said.

In general, the Lottery retailers can pay up to $600 unless they are a cashing agent. It allows them to pay up to $5,000. Eric’s ticket was more than these amounts. He took his close friend Kendall as Linda couldn’t make the trip with him. However, this couple had visited lottery headquarters to claim $2.6 million in 1999. They collected $1.6 million as the one-time-cash option and paid off their house on that occasion. “The rest of the money was for her to spend,” he said.
