With three Roanoke residents winning major Virginia Lottery prizes it seems Roanoke is the perfect place to bet your luck. In July 11th eXTRA Chances of Promotion drawing, Loren Davis won $100,000.
“I just nearly passed out!” Davis said. She got the news while checking her voicemail. There was a message from Virginia Lottery saying her ticket wins. She added, the prize will help send her daughter to college in August.
Another big winner was Andrew Mageros. He bought eight tickets for the Virginia Lottery’s Pirate’s Loot game. One of these eight tickets won the game’s $200,000 top prize. He didn’t celebrate right away. Instead, he along with his fiancée carefully checked the ticket till they were completely satisfied with the $200,000 winning. “Then we jumped up and down,” he added later.
He the second player to claim the top winning prizes, leaving two prizes still to claim. He purchased the winning ticket at Stop in Food, 4111 Franklin Road in Roanoke. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 1,040,400. Mageros plans to put his winnings in paying off his mortgage.
Tracy Penn is the third Roanoke winner. She scooped $100,000. The winning numbers for $100,000 in the Virginia Lottery Cash 5 game were: 1-3-4-7-9. And, she is not going to forget them any soon. She played the numbers after a friend advised her to do so as those numbers appeared in a dream. Tracy used them in June 25th draw and all the numbers matched the winning draw. She purchased her winning ticket at Cove Mart, 1723 Cove Road in Roanoke. She added to have no immediate plans for her big win.
Above all, the next grand prize drawing is scheduled on August 1 with a $100,000 grand prize. The last date for participation is July 31. Cash 5 drawings take place at 1:59 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. And, the odds of winning the $100,000 top prize are 1 in 278,256.
