May be you are quite lucky, but there’s someone luckier than you. Yes! The 69-year old, Jules Parent of Quebec, Canada has just won $1 million for the second time in nine years.
Parent said that ‘the probability of winning is extremely small’ and ‘winning twice in a relatively short time is really something else’. He won $1 million first in the year 2008 while playing Lotto 6-49. Parent’s most recent jackpot came on a play worth $3.20. The odds of winning the Loto-Québec with such a bet are 1 in 23,437,500. On the other hand, the odds of winning the Lotto 6-49 are one in 14 million.
Parent turned up at Loto-Québec offices in Quebec City to collect his winning cheque for $1,222,069. He won the jackpot through playing the Crown of Egypt lottery online. Parent added, “I don’t know who did this. Was I born under a good star?”
Parent plans to continue playing
On being asked, Parent said he enjoys playing. However, he also added that he is not a compulsive gambler. Gambling is one his favourite pastimes along with walking, fishing and hunting. But, Parent later said that he will continue playing the same amount he does now.
He added, “I’m retired so it helps me pass the time. Just like any other game of chance, sometimes you win and, other times, unfortunately, you head home with less money.”
Parent lives alone and has no kids. He plans to demolish his home and build a new home. It’ll be a modest home. However, it won’t be a castle. It will be in the modern style, he concluded.
Above all, Parent is also planning out a trip to Las Vegas.
