The New Jersey Lottery yesterday announced Rande and Jackie as the winner of $1 million lottery jackpot. The New Jersey couple, who have been raising three grandchildren accepted the second-tier prize for March 31 Mega Millions drawing.
Rande and Jackie have been caring their three grandchildren since 2009. Their daughter, Michelle was just 25 years old when she lost her battle against Lupus in 2009.
Jackie’s eyes filled with tears while receiving her winning cheque. She said, “This will be the beginning of good fortune to our family.” Rande and Jackie said to put the money towards their bills first. However, they want to use the rest of the money to secure their grandchildren’s future. Rande said, “I am very grateful. This will help our lives out a lot.”
Rande and Jackie got their friend Debbie along with them to drive to Lottery headquarters. She addressed them as one of the most deserving people in New Jersey. “They have helped so many numbers of people in their times of need and now it is their turn to receive this very necessary blessing,” Debbie later added.
The winning numbers for March 31 drawing were 17-24-27-32-58.
