One lucky player in Michigan bought a lottery ticket worth $1 million for the July 4, Tuesday night’s draw. The player matched all the five white numbers drawn.
However, no one matched all the white numbers along with the Mega Ball to win the $172 million jackpot. As a result, July 7, Friday draw will have a jackpot worth $186 million with the cash option of $115 million.
According to Michigan State Lottery, the Exxon gas station, located at 24938 Ford Rd. in Dearborn Heights sold the $1 million worth winning ticket. The winning Mega Million numbers for July 4 were: 16-39-47-53-71 with the Gold Mega Ball 15 and Multiplier 4. The lucky player needs to claim the winning prize at the nearest Lottery headquarters. Usually, there is an 180-days deadline to claim the winnings.

- One player from New Jersey also matched all five white numbers to win $1 million.
- However, neither player played the Megaplier option. Megaplier would have increased their winnings to $4 million.
- Total 570,644 tickets were sold which won $2 in the Tuesday night’s drawing. Particularly in Michigan 24,858 tickets were sold that won $2 in the drawing.
