Lottery Winner Shared his Winnings with Café Employees

A Maine (northeastern United States) man hands out his jackpot winning ticket at a restaurant where he visits daily. Hal is lucky enough to win the lottery second time in recent months. This time, he shared his winnings with Café employees. He chose to share his winnings because he found all the Café employees friendly and hard working.

Hal, the retired truck driver, won $2 million jackpot from the Maine Lottery in April. He collected $1.4 million (after paying the taxes) on that occasion. “I was there in the audience with my son and my daughter,” he said. The central Maine resident is a widowed father of five children. He entirely used the winnings to help his kids, and he kept playing the lottery.

Moreover, Hal played the same Pick 3 game last month. In that agenda, he bought 56 of the $5 tickets. He selected same three numbers for all 56 cards. Hal’s three numbers were winners; each of his $5 tickets became $420 winning tickets. He gave away all 56 of the cards.

Above all, on a recent Saturday, Hal visited Lori’s Cafe in Liberty with the winning tickets. He has been visiting this Maine based restaurant nearly more than a decade. “He was sitting at the counter, and a young girl was doing dishes. It was only her second day working here,” the cafe’s owner, Lori Mayer, told ABC News. As per the cafe owner, the family was so exuberant to donate the winnings.
