Orange County Republican, Ed Royce (R-Fullerton) has picked up another election challenger, as 46-year-old Navy Veteran, Gil Cisneros is ready to challenge Ed Royce for Congress. Cisneros, a Democrat, has entered the race to unseat Royce in the 39th Congressional District. The former shipping and distribution manager of Frito-Lay finds an injustice in this district with Ed Royce, indicating to Royce’s vote in favour of repealing Obamacare.
In adherence with the Los Angeles Times, Gil publicised his endorsement from VoteVets. The Veteran was working as a Republican but left the party due to the difference in ideologies. He, along with his wife, won $266 million in California’s state lottery in 2010. The couple started Gilbert and Jacki Cisneros Foundation in the same year. The dream was to provide scholarships to the Latino students. Last year, they donated $7 million to the Cisneros Hispanic Leadership Institute at The George Washington University.
Above all, Tony Cardenas, and Sam Jammal (a former chief) want to join the race of Democratic challengers. The number of challengers is expected to grow.
