Lottery Ticket Matched All Six Numbers, Wins $156.2 Million

A lottery ticket sold in Wisconsin pays $156.2 million in Powerball lottery jackpot. A Wisconsin (USA) woman claims this amount after four months of its ticket purchase, on 22nd March 2017. Her ticket matched all six winning Powerball numbers; i.e., 2, 9, 27, 29, and 42, with Powerball number 9. The drawing was held at Pewaukee Corner Pump, 1194 W Capitol Drive in Milwaukee. It is the second-biggest prize sold in Wisconsin.

As she chose to receive the lump-sum cash option, Mai Xiong will be paid a sum of $93.1 million before the initial taxes are withheld. The initial tax will include 25 percent for federal tax and 7.65 percent for state income tax. Besides, the winning lady may have to face additional federal taxes beyond the initial 25 percent.

Retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive 2 percent of the winning ticket, up to $100,000. Thus, Fond du Lac gas station will receive $100,000 as a ticket selling bonus. Since the game was introduced, in 1991, this is the 16th Powerball jackpot won in Wisconsin. The last Powerball jackpot winner was from Marinette who scooped $31.4 million on Oct.
