Lottery Bosses confirm the selling point of EuroMillions €29 m jackpot

The lucky €29 million EuroMillions ticket is making news every day. National Lottery Officials have confirmed that Castlebar, Co Mayo sold the winning lottery ticket. The winning ticket holder has contacted National Lottery and wishes to remain anonymous.

Above all, the winning numbers for Friday night’s draw were: 11-20-35-37-45 and Lucky Stars were 3 and 6.

The Lottery officials confirmed that Garryduff XL Store on the Pound Road sold the Quick Pick ticket. The lucky Irish winner will take away exactly €28,975,630. Also, this is 11th EuroMillions jackpot win in Ireland and second EuroMillions jackpot win for Castlebar since it started in 2004. It brings the total Irish EuroMillions winning to over €1 billion till date. The first jackpot prize in Castlebar dates back to April 2014 on a ticket sold in Staunton’s Costcutter Express worth €15 million.

The ecstatic Umesh Kumar, the owner of Garryduff XL Stores, said that he could not believe it when the National Lottery made contact with him to tell he had sold the Golden ticket. He said, “We had no idea at all. We are thrilled here at the news.” This is a great boost for the area, and we all are delighted for the winner whoever it is, he added.

Mr. Kumar is originally from New Delhi, India. He moved to Ireland in 2006 to study an MBA in Dublin. He lives with his wife Rosalie and a two-year-old son Arjun. Kumar employs four staff in his store. On the other hand, the National Lottery Chief Executive, Dermot Griffin said, “We are delighted for Umesh and his staff who sold this ticket.” We will be handling over the winning cheque in our Winners room in the next week or so, he added.

Moreover, speculations were on top since Friday night as to who the winner of the mega jackpot is. Lotto bosses had been appealing people to check their tickets.
