“Life won’t change” says €6.4m winning syndicate

The syndicate of three from the North East who scooped Lotto jackpot worth €6.4 million says their life won’t change.

The trio kept their winning ticket under wraps for about seven weeks since their win from Wednesday, July 5. Each member will receive the €2.13m. Argue’s Londis Store in the market town of Cootehill sold the winning Quick Pick ticket on Sunday, July 2.

The winning numbers were: 07, 16, 18, 20, 24, 37, and

Bonus: 13

This win also becomes the 28th jackpot win in the country since the establishment of National Lottery. The trio wished to remain anonymous and celebrated their winning with a glass of champagne in the National Lottery winner’s room.

One from the trio said, “”We are absolutely delighted with this win. This is a huge amount of money, but we are all determined that it won’t change our lives dramatically.” All the members said to continue working as normal as they have no major plans for spending their winnings.

Moreover, Cavan’s record for Lotto wins includes an almost €7 m jackpot winning ticket at Pat’s Store in Kingscourt in March 2011, a near €5 m ticket in Cootehill, at Hannigans’ on Main Street in March 2007 and two more wins of close to €4.5m at Supervalu in Bailieborough in 1996 and 2016.
