Jackpot hitting chance is now One in Twenty Million

Your chances of winning the jackpot are becoming slimmer; it is 1 in 20 million now. The number of balls which was 49 earlier has increased to 52 from 31st July. So, the winning is tougher now.

“If the only change is to increase from 49 to 52 balls then there are 20‚358‚520 possible lottery tickets and the probability of winning the jackpot is 1/20‚358‚520 — roughly 1 in 20 million‚” a mathematical statistics lecturer at Wits University, Mark Dowdeswell‚ said. Earlier it was 1 in 14 million (roughly).

Most of the countries are offering 1 in about 12 million chances of winning the jackpot. However, lottery numbers range from 1 to 45 in Australian, and chances of winning the jackpot are about one in nine million. Mark pretends that the Ithuba should have followed the Australian way. The marketing head, Khensani Mabuza, shared that the increment in the number of balls set to offer bigger jackpot prizes. They have also amplified the overall winning divisions to eight which was sitting at seven previously.
