Imperial man scoops $10 million in Lottery

An Imperial, Missouri man scoops $10 million in a Missouri Lottery Scratchers Game over the weekend.

David Piper, a resident of Imperial, went to the Schnucks in Arnold to buy a scratch off ticket on Sunday. He says to hit the winning ticket because of the ‘divine intervention’. He adds, “The machine I was going to buy it out of was out of order. The machine next to it, the one was sold out.”

However, the third machine was working and still had scratch-off lottery tickets in it. David bought a ticket which was $10 winner ticket. David said, “Somebody was upstairs watching. I had to look at it several times and still didn’t believe it!”

The 67-year old David then quickly informed his wife and went back to Schnucks to verify the ticket. Both David and his wife quit their jobs. David was working as an electrician for Washington University in the Department of Radiology.

David plans to buy a new home down the road. However his first will be a new jeep. Currently, he owns a 20 years-old Chevy Cavalier which has 250,000 miles on it.
