Idaho Lottery: Man claims to become 199th player to win $200,000

An East Idaho man has claimed his big $200,000 Powerball winning ticket. As per lottery officials, Zane Powell, a resident of Rexburg, is the new Powerball winner of Idaho.

Zane purchased the Powerball ticket for the last Wednesday’s $758.7 million Powerball jackpot. Like most of the players, Zane nearly throws out his ticket after learning that the jackpot has been won in another state. He purchased the ticket at the Valley Country Store in Jerome.

Zane claimed his winnings yesterday late afternoon at lottery offices in Boise. He said that he was going to throw a pile of tickets but thought to check them once. It was then he got the winning ticket which said to claim at a lottery office. Zane, who doesn’t play very often, did not know how much he had won until he arrived at lottery offices in Boise.

Zane inquired, “Is that how much it is? That’s going to make for a nice vacation next winter.” He also had another winning ticket worth $16. Moreover, Zane becomes 199th lottery player to win at least $200,000 from the Idaho Lottery.
