Hartford County couple claims $2 Million Powerball prize

After matching all the numbers drawn in Wednesday’s Powerball, a Hartford County (Connecticut) couple, Carmen Jimenez and Carlos Lora Pichardo, won $2 million prize money. They bought their ticket at La Plaza Del Mercado in Hartford.

Winning Numbers: 06, 07, 16, 23, and 26

Powerball: 04

Additionally, two tickets sold in Connecticut managed to match all five numbers drawn and won $1 million each, but the ticket sold in Hartford was worth $2 million because the ticket-holder paid an extra buck for the Power Play option. That doubled the prize total to $2 million.

Last Friday, another ticket-holder claimed $1 million at CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill. She purchased her five-number-matching ticket in Litchfield County at North Elm Mobil on North Elm Street, Torrington.
