Former lottery winner donates his winnings

An Ilands lottery winner is using his winnings to support local and national charities and a young motorcyclist. Phil Poultney scooped £1M last year in Euro Millions UK Millionaire Maker prize. Since his big win, Phil, his wife and three children have moved into a new house and help out many local and national charities.

Phil is also using a small part of his winnings to support Manx motorbike racer, Jamie Williams. Jamie, who is 24 years old, finished fifth in last year’s Manx Grand Prix Newcomers’ race and seventeenth in Seniors. ’Phil has helped me out in two ways,’ Jamie said. ’Financially, and also in a practical way, coming to race meetings and helping out in the pits and parc ferme. It’s nice to have the constant support.’

Phil, who is 45 now, still works for his own company-Adore and still plays the lottery. He is a very enthusiastic follower of motorsport. Bike racing is a very tough and expensive sport and I have known Jamie for years and have a lot of respect for him. Supporting different charities that are close to my heart as well as helping a local man and his team to fulfill their dreams has been wonderful, Phil expressed.
