Donating a $6K Jackpot to IWK Burn Unit

Ex-fire marshals to donate $6k to children’s hospital

Mario Delorme and his business partner had purchased a ticket for the 50/50 draw a few days back. They purchased it at the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo. While purchasing it, the business partners were not expecting to win the jackpot. The reason behind their doubt lies in its high winning odd which was one in seven thousand.

Although, the partners made a decision to donate their winning money to the burn unit of a children’s hospital located in Halifax if they are lucky enough to win. Previously worked as fire marshals, the winners of 50/50 draw want to donate $6K jackpot to IWK burn unit. They now work together in a Dartmouth-based fire investigation company (private) for the origin and cause of the same. In this regard, we should know that an injured person handles his/her injuries for a long time as the recovery needs a long time.

The head of company’s Atlantic Canadian operations said, “The next thing we knew we won.” We both started laughing and said, “OK, we promised, so that’s where it’s going.” So, they fulfilled the previously made promise after winning this $6K jackpot.

Cashing in close to $6,000 from the winning total is the first thing Delorme did. His company has donated $53,000 to charity since 2008. The giving pledge inspires it. It always follows the giving back policy. The firm then plans to top up the total to an even $6,000 to donate to the IWK Health Centre. The Health Centre is engaged in treating children with burn injuries across the Maritimes. Delorme also shared that the unit did a lot with his invested money. They have not yet had the opportunity to tell the IWK Health Centre that they planned to donate their winnings amount to the burn unit. Hopefully, the winners will hand over the cheque by the current week.
