Peter Clegg, 59 was celebrating the end of his money worries after scooping huge jackpot worth £450,000. Previously, he had asked his bank for a break from paying his mortgage as he was struggling to make ends meet.
He had to fight back his tears to face the camera after his huge overwhelming win. “I just couldn’t stop crying, I couldn’t believe it,” Peter said when People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt handed him three tickets for £150,000. He won one for each of his tickets in a competition. Peter asked the bank for payment holiday because he was unable to pay both the mortgage and credit card bills. “Thankfully I don’t have to worry about that now,” Peter said. This winning prize is life changing for his family.
Peter revealed that he was shaking like a leaf while taking the three big cheques. And, could have missed out £300,000 because he rang up to cancel two of his tickets just weeks before. Thankfully the cancelation didn’t come into effect.
Peter along with his wife Diane plans to take his two daughters Katie and Daisy on holiday. He also plans to buy a new car. However, the lucky couple –Peter and Diane, who were struggling for cash after Diane had given up work due to a serious heart problem, said their winning would not change their day to day lives.
