Paul Fowler of Charlotte, North Carolina always believed that whenever he will win big in the lottery, it will surely have something to do with the numbers in his birthday. As a result, on his 72^nd birthday on Friday, he won Cash 5 jackpot worth $391,096.

Fowler said that when he was young, his parents had told him that whenever 7 and 7 came up, that would be lucky because of his birthday. Ironically, the date for Friday’s Cash 5 drawing was 07/07/2017. And seeing this, Fowler particularly felt lucky with a Cash 5 drawing on his birthday. Eventually, he checked the winning numbers just to see his parent’s predictions come true in a big way.

Fowler has played with the two tickets with the same numbers for years. And, he ended up holding both winning tickets in the drawing. Apart from this, each of the ticket sold at Harris Teeter on West Mallard Creek Church Road was worth $195,548.

Fowler said he woke up his wife at 1 a.m. on Saturday to tell her the big news. He said, “I just started crying. I was happy. Just happy.”

Fowler retired to Charlotte 10 years ago after living in New York City. He said to use the money to pay bills and take a nice vacation. Fowler took home $271,822 after state and federal tax withholdings.
