Two longtime co-workers from Wayne County are set to split $1 million Powerball prize from Michigan Lottery. The winning ticket managed to match all the numbers drawn in August 23 Powerball Jackpot draw. However, they missed the $760 million Powerball jackpot just by a single digit.
“We asked around during this last Powerball jackpot and no one seemed interested, so the two of us bought a bunch of tickets,” a winner said. They purchased their winning ticket at the Melvindale Liquor Market which is located at 17973 Allen Road in Melvindale. It had 03 for the Powerball, but the drawn number was 04.
The winners visited Lottery headquarters on Tuesday and claimed their million dollar prize. Each B-Squared Lottery Club member wants to save their big winnings for a rainy day. “It’s a good feeling to know that people really do win playing the Lottery,” the club’s representative expressed.
