Peggy Rike, the $6 million lottery winner, bought her $10 Set for Life ticket from the Safeway located at 4100 Redwood Road. She has been buying scratcher lottery ticket for years and applying the same strategy. “There is a system. I counted them. There are 12 stores I buy from in Oakland and San Leandro. I know which stores I’m going to on which days of the week,” the winner explained.

Rike prefers buying her tickets three or four retails of California Lottery on a pre-defined day. As she believes in buying the tickets from multiple locations, she avoids buying her tickets from a single store.

She is open to collect $3,480,000 as one-time lump-sum cash or $6 million spread out in $20,000 monthly payments over the next 25 years. The second option; i.e., $20,000 monthly; will be before federal taxes. The retailer that sold the winning entry is likely to receive $30,000 as retailer ticket-selling- bonus.
