$50-Million Alberta Lottery Winner Triumphs in Legal Battle

Another big win comes for Alberta man after he scooped the $50 million Alberta lottery. The jackpot winner, Randall Rush, has triumphed in his legal battle with an entrepreneur, Jeremy Crawford. Rush has invested 10 per cent of his winnings in the start-up company founded by Jeremy. The former business partners have reached a settlement that pushes Crawford to return assets to Rush worth $4.5 million.

“I am delighted that the civil action is complete,” Rush expressed while speaking at the launch of a U.S. lawsuit against Crawford, in 2015. Jeremy Crawford, along with wife, claims that the lottery winner’s lawsuit victimises them. According to the 51-year-old lottery winner, his lawsuit was never about the money. The Alberta man had been playing the same numbers for last 14 years. So, the experience was enthralling.

He started investing in Kult Labs (a start-up mobile app company launched by Crawford) two months after his lottery win. Rush found that there was a long leash of good will here and a huge rope of trust even though the vetting process was not as same as the other business ventures. The relationship of these two former business partners has unravelled by the end of 2015. Crawford, however, denied the claim made by Rush.
