Lottery tickets are surely a gamble- sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. But, for a Chapel Hill, North Carolina man the lottery ticket just paid the biggest prize money. Gary Stadler of Chapel Hill won $1,000,000 from just a $10 lottery ticket.

Stadler redeemed his $1 million Bonus Cash ticket on Tuesday at North Carolina Education Lottery headquarters in Raleigh. He brought home $34,753 after state and federal tax withholdings and will receive a $50,000 annuity for the next twenty years.

The game that began in July 2016 offers the top prize winners to choose between the annuity and a lump sum of $600,000. Stadler won the last top prize.
